Global Reporting Initiative

Wolters Kluwer has made significant steps towards a comprehensive standard of sustainability reporting that provides the level of transparency to which we are committed. The 2002 Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Guidelines provide a sound framework to assist us in this goal. This framework presents globally accepted reporting principles and specific content indicators to guide the preparation of organization-level sustainability reports. These guidelines also will form the basis for globalizing Wolters Kluwer’s sustainability actions. For Wolters Kluwer’s 2007 performance within the context of the GRI guidelines, see the annexes to the 2007 Sustainable Entrepreneurship Report.

Active in the fields of health and education, two areas that are particularly crucial to sustainable development, Wolters Kluwer also looks to the UN Millennium Development Goals embraced by governments and businesses alike. These goals cover a range of key development issues and are rooted in a human rights framework.
