Investing in Employees
Talent Managment
|
Attracting, retaining, and developing in-house talent is crucial to our vision of being The Professional’s First Choice. |
In addition to maintaining a balanced work environment, we believe that being a first-rate employer means compensating our people well, actively supporting development and training, and encouraging employees to contribute to society by participation in professional organizations and conferences.
In 2005 we established a Talent Management Program to identify and develop our next generation of leaders. This program sets out a global framework for leadership criteria, assessment, and development. Assessment, development, and succession meetings on a global scale have become a standard part of our HR processes.
2007 saw the continued expansion of the program through the establishment of the Wolters Kluwer Leadership Forum. For the first time, over 160 emerging company leaders around the world gathered in talent forums, on different themes relating to leadership and growth. The forums are an important opportunity for emerging leaders to establish networks and peer-to-peer collaboration across divisions and geographies.
Diversity
|
We see diversity as a catalyst for innovation and creativity. |
As a global company with over 18,207 employees in more than 40 countries, Wolters Kluwer values the diversity of its people. Wolters Kluwer will continue to hire the most qualified candidates for its positions, and aims to achieve a proportion of expert male and female employees in line with overall representation in the workforce.
Gender
Within Wolters Kluwer, 8 out of 10 employees are covered by policies or programs to promote gender diversity. 1 out of 3 members of the Executive Board is female.
Ethnicity
70% of our business units comply with local legislation and do not track the ethnic background of employees. Of the 30% of our businesses that do track ethnic background, minorities make up 12% percent of their workforces.
