Wolters Kluwer transforms the SEC filings process with introduction of RegReview

A new workflow solution - the latest in a series of Wolters Kluwer offerings for securities - expedites SEC research and rule-checking process for securities practitioners.

Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory U.S. today launched RegReview, a workflow solution designed to boost efficiency and accuracy of SEC rule-checking. As a critical component of Wolters Kluwer's Transactional Law Suite for Securities, RegReview aims to set a new market standard for SEC filings by expediting regulatory review and filing preparation, ultimately increasing efficiency and accuracy throughout the process.

The solution is the only market offering that provides users with tools to quickly identify changes in the law and navigate all relevant laws governing a particular SEC filing. RegReview features Point-in-Time navigation, which identifies the exact language within a law that has changed, and allows users to compare all prior changes made to that law since 2013.

As part of Wolters Kluwer's ongoing collaboration with Propylon, RegReview utilizes Propylon's TimeArc® technology for its Point-in-Time navigation and redlining comparison capabilities. "We're pleased to be able to collaborate with Wolters Kluwer to help their customers cut through that complexity with confidence," said Breiffni O'Domhnaill, Head of Business Development at Propylon.

The solution also allows users to view all primary source materials associated to a particular form or SEC filing, while viewing that form or filing – drastically improving the speed and accuracy of the rule-checking process. All of the links and rule-checking information is curated by Wolters Kluwer's team of attorney editors and analysts, ensuring accuracy and expert curation.

"RegReview is designed to address our customers' two major pain points: difficulty in identifying changes in laws and regulations, and rule-checking," said Susan Chazin, Esq., Portfolio Director, Securities and Banking. "Wolters Kluwer is bringing to market cutting-edge features such as Point-in-Time navigation, and integrating our unparalleled content, to offer a securities research solution unlike anything else currently available."

RegReview offers users a variety of core functionalities including:

  • Point-in-Time navigation that allows users to compare versions of all changes made to a law, regulation or form, identifying the exact language that has changed
  • The ability to review whether or not changes have been made to a law, regulation or form
  • Content curation by Wolters Kluwer's securities attorneys and experts

As a market leader in transactional law - particularly in the areas of SEC research, filings preparation and mergers and acquisitions - Wolters Kluwer has rolled out RegReview as part of its Transactional Law Suite for Securities, the company's comprehensive solution providing securities and corporate practitioners with an array of intuitive workflow tools. The suite also includes Clarion, a unique new tool that expedites the M&A due diligence process and works to uncover hidden relationships and risks, as well as M&A Clause Analytics, a solution powered both by artificial intelligence and expert attorney curation, allowing for the seamless and detailed comparison of a wide variety of clauses found in mergers & acquisition related agreements.

Wolters Kluwer also recently introduced a new design and new features for its signature SEC regulatory and filings research and workflow solutions, RBsource® and RBsourceFilings®.
