Wolters Kluwer UK acquires Company Reporting, a unique research service reporting on best practice in financial reporting

Wolters Kluwer UK has acquired Company Reporting, a UK-based research service.

Wolters Kluwer UK, part of the global information group focused on professionals, has acquired Company Reporting, a unique UK-based research service that reports on constantly changing financial reporting practices of public companies.

Company Reporting focuses on the dynamics of corporate reporting for S&P Europe 350 and UK FTSE 350 companies. It reviews annual reports of listed companies in detail and identifies actual changes in corporate reporting practice and governance procedures. Through its in-depth analysis it identifies evolving best practice, including the development of, and instances of divergence from, generally accepted accounting practice under IFRS.

Company Reporting is led by Omkar Joshi and a team of 10 people with years of experience in the financial reporting industry. They will join Wolters Kluwer to enhance its current offering to customers with unique, practical illustrations of implementing IFRS.

Wolters Kluwer UK is already the leading provider of insight on accounting regulation compliance. It provides online, annotated accounting and auditing standards, and commentary and guidance on regulations. Wolters Kluwer UK also has a strong presence in the accounting and auditing compliance software segment.

Regional Manager of Wolters Kluwer in the UK, Salvador Fernandez, says: "The financial reporting environment in the UK is in a state of change. With IFRS becoming increasingly prevalent and complex, and with new UK GAAP on the horizon, there is a growing need for deeper understanding of financial reporting standards.

"Professionals in corporations, firms and many other organisations will benefit greatly from the continued offering of Company Reporting's specialists, combined with Wolters Kluwer's expert financial reporting information services.

"Wolters Kluwer in the UK has established itself as the market leader in IFRS reporting. With the addition of Company Reporting we are in a strong position to expand our financial reporting expertise across the world."

Omkar Joshi says: "We are very excited to become part of Wolters Kluwer, the global leader in our field. Through this combination, we have created a unique strategic opportunity by combining Company Reporting's multiple years of expertise and unparalleled content with Wolters Kluwer's expansive global footprint and product development capabilities. We will remain focused on our customers and strengthen and build on our offerings to deliver even greater value."
