Wolters Kluwer to Share Liquidity Risk Expertise at Risk ASEAN 2016

Expert to speak at leading regional risk management conference sponsored by Wolters Kluwer

Wolters Kluwer today announces its participation in Risk ASEAN 2016 as a co-sponsor. To be held at Plaza Athénée, Bangkok, Thailand, this leading regional conference gathers together risk practitioners and investment professionals to share best practices in financial risk management in the region.

Soon Kit Tham, Risk Practice director at Wolters Kluwer, will conduct a presentation on managing liquidity risk under the Basel regulatory regime. He will discuss how to fit the controls and measures of liquidity risk into the latest Basel regulatory regime, and share risk management best practices.

“Under the Basel III regulatory regime for liquidity risk, risk managers have to quickly understand how to develop the right measures to meet these new standards,” Tham said. “The presentation will zoom in on the important features of the new standards and how to implement them against a backdrop of various practical scenarios financial institutions in the ASEAN region have to grapple with.”

Risk ASEAN is the flagship Southeast Asian event for Risk magazine, the leading risk management title published by global publishing house Incisive Media. Approximately 300 delegates are anticipating at the event, including senior representatives from banks, asset managers, pension funds, insurers and regulators.

“With the increasing number of new regulatory standards, banks need to quickly grasp requirements and understand how to manage compliance. Now more than ever, our customers in Asia need advice and we seek to address their concerns through our in-house expertise,” said Chris Puype, managing director, Asia Pacific, for Wolters Kluwer’s financial services business.
