Challenge

Standardizing learning and professional development across a growing health system

Following significant growth, Ardent had to standardize nursing education across 200+ care sites and 30 hospitals in six states.

Ardent sought a single evidence-based clinical and education platform that would both drive systemwide best practices and maximize efficiencies for both training and patient care. The platform would have to have the flexibility to meet the varied needs of facilities large and small, including those with fewer on-site educational resources.

Frontline staff wanted a platform that would standardize continuing education (CE), while Ardent’s 75+ nurse educators wanted to be able to easily create programs or tailor programs to their facilities’ needs.

“I believe educators are influencers and leaders. They’re the boots on the ground, getting information to the nurses who use the tools. And what we’ve seen are constant upticks in Lippincott Solutions usage. Now we come together as a team to make recommendations that come out of Lippincott best practices to align with policy.”

Considering a digital solution?

Lippincott® Solutions supports your clinical excellence and staff development initiatives with the very best evidence-based content, delivered through our integrated, cloud-based solution.

Solution

Ardent worked with Lippincott to consolidate all learning and professional development into its learning management software (LMS) system, accessible through a single sign-on. Ardent then unified and standardized education across all of its sites of care, aligning people (educators), processes and systems.

Meanwhile, in response to the urgent needs caused by COVID-19, the team used Lippincott Solutions to rapidly onboard clinical staff and conduct new nurse orientation.

Through it all, Lippincott helped Ardent move to a more efficient, consistent, and effective model of care with a unified way to validate nursing competencies.
