CCH ProSystem fx Engagement 2017 supports Adobe® Acrobat® Standard, Professional, and Reader®, versions 11, DC, and 2017. However, editing and Engagement functionality is only available with Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Professional. The “Protected Mode” must be turned off in Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Professional to use Engagement functionality, such as: tickmark definitions, workpaper notes, and workpaper references, By default, “Protected Mode” is on. Engagement will detect this setting and prompt you to disable it.
- If you select Yes, Protected Mode is turned off and the workpaper is opened with Engagement functionality in place.
- If you select No, the workpaper opens in Protected Mode, and Engagement functionality is disabled.
To manually set Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Professional, versions 11, DC, and 2017, to always open with Protected Mode turned off, do the following:
- Open Adobe® Acrobat®.
- Select Edit > Preferences > General. (In Adobe® Acrobat® DC or 2017, select Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced)).
- Uncheck the Enable Protected Mode at startup option.
- Click OK.
- Restart Adobe® Acrobat®.
