CCH Navigate GAAP is an intuitive research tool and powerful search engine that delivers comprehensive and up-to-date information on the new UK GAAP accounting standards on a single web-based platform
A new online information service has been launched by Wolters Kluwer to help accountants and finance professionals navigate the new UK GAAP accounting standards, the financial reporting framework that will become effective from 1 January, 2015.
CCH Navigate GAAP is an intuitive research tool and powerful search engine that delivers comprehensive and up-to-date information on the new UK GAAP accounting standards on a single web-based platform. To help users understand the complexities of the new standards, content from Wolters Kluwer's CCH information service includes legislation, standards, commentary, model accounts and frequently asked questions. The service covers the Companies Act and SORPs, and Financial Reporting Council standards, including FRS102.
CCH Navigate GAAP is the first UK research platform from Wolters Kluwer that is integrated with CPD tracker technology to allow users to record all their reading and research for their Continuing Professional Development. It works on any device, providing access to information on a PC, tablet and smartphone.
"The changes to UK GAAP from next January are probably the biggest to impact the accounting profession for 30 years," says Julia Penny, Wolters Kluwer's UK Audit and Accounting Content Manager, and member of the ICAEW Financial Reporting Faculty Board.
"There is a danger that the changes will create a lot of extra work for accountancy practices and corporations, potentially causing spiralling costs and financial reporting errors. To prevent a new UK GAAP disaster will require good planning."
CCH Navigate GAAP offers the following content from its online searches:
- Overview commentary: high level explanation of the topic
- Model accounts: example accounts using the various accounting frameworks
- Letters and forms: model engagement letters and similar items
- Standards and legislation: accounting standards, SORPs, legal and other similar requirements
- In-depth guidance: detailed explanation and commentary on how to apply the standards/legislation
- e-learning: audio/visual e-learning CPD modules, lasting about 15 minutes each
