Wolters Kluwer to showcase Health Language terminology management solutions at Epic User Group Meeting

The Health division of Wolters Kluwer, a leading global provider of information and point of care solutions for the healthcare industry, announced today that its Health Language® workflow enhancing search and data normalization solutions will be featured at the Epic User Group Meeting, August 31-September 4 in Verona, Wis. Located at the Epic Observation Deck in Booth #224, Wolters Kluwer will be demonstrating its cutting-edge solution for simplifying clinician documentation of problem lists and diagnoses.

Clients using Workflow Enhancing Search within Epic can now record problems and diagnoses utilizing a comprehensive library of commonly used synonyms with mappings to SNOMED, ICD-9, and ICD-10. Workflow Enhancing Search addresses the complexities associated with choosing the correct codes, enhancing regulatory compliance, and revenue cycle management. Part of the Health Language enterprise terminology management platform, the offering supports local customization of content for use in Epic systems and other health IT platforms, extending beyond problem and diagnosis search to address other terminology-related initiatives such as establishing a single source of truth, normalizing data for interoperability and analytics, and assisting with the transition to ICD-10.

More than 2,000 hospital clients benefit from the collaborative and timely efforts of the Health Language content team to generate and publish greater than 6 thousand coding and mapping changes annually. Many Epic customers already use UB-04 codes and content from Health Language within EpicCare solutions.

"The advanced nature of our Workflow Enhancing Search solution is a true market differentiator for Wolters Kluwer's Health Language offerings, delivering the highest quality content and the most robust and accurate ICD-to-SNOMED mappings available," said David Del Toro, President, and CEO of Clinical Software Solutions at Wolters Kluwer Health. "The value of Health Language content alongside the responsiveness of our expert team is what leads clients ranging from leading academic medical centers and health systems to payers and community hospitals to select our platform over the competition."

The Health Language enterprise terminology management platform from Wolters Kluwer provides the software, content, and consulting solutions needed to map, translate, update, and manage standard and enhanced clinical terminologies on an enterprise-scale —enabling the information liquidity required to support some of healthcare's toughest challenges, such as meaningful use compliance, ICD-10 conversion, population health management, analytics, ACOs, and semantic interoperability among systems.
