Wolters Kluwer Expert Addresses Fair Lending Issues for Banks

Barbara Boccia to Present at CBA’s 30th Annual Lenders and Credit Officers Conference

Financial institutions of all sizes continue to grapple with fair lending issues. With the areas of emphasis seeming to continually shift, it can be challenging to manage each new area of examiner focus.

To help address these issues, Wolters Kluwer today announced that Barbara Boccia, senior director of U.S. Advisory Services and Regulatory Relations at Wolters Kluwer, will speak at the California Bankers Association’s 30th Annual Lenders and Credit Officers Conference on March 12-15 in Rancho Mirage, Calif. The presentation, “Fair Lending Update,” at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, will examine a number of issues, ranging from preparing for the new Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) rules and upcoming fair lending changes related to commercial real estate secured loans and “covered transactions,” to exploring the growing role of data collection within financial institutions.

“Fair lending continues to pose significant challenges for the banking industry, and financial institutions should remain diligent in evaluating any vulnerabilities within their businesses,” said Boccia. “This conference is a good opportunity to help banks understand what needs to be done to ensure that their approaches are in line with examiner and regulator expectations.”

Boccia is a seasoned compliance professional who has served in senior-level compliance roles with major consulting firms and mid-to-large size banks. She has also assisted banks with regulatory examination preparation and response engagements.
