Wolters Kluwer Regulatory Expert Barbara Boccia to Address HMDA, CRA and Fair Lending Issues

Executive roundtable to focus on financial institutions’ most pressing Regulatory compliance challenges

The year 2017 is proving to be yet another one filled with regulatory and supervisory challenges for financial institutions. Wolters Kluwer today announced that Barbara Boccia, senior director of its U.S. Advisory Services and Regulatory Relations group, will host a Compliance Executive Roundtable discussion for banks to focus on effectively addressing these complex and interrelated challenges for increased performance and profitability.

The Compliance Executive Roundtable, part of a series of Wolters Kluwer regional roundtables slated in 2017, will be held Tuesday, March 21 from 2 – 5 p.m. EDT, accessed via the HPB Insurance building of BNC Bank,1300 East Hartley Drive, High Point, NC. For existing users of CRA Wiz® and Fair Lending Wiz®, Wolters Kluwer will also offer a User Group and Advanced Training Session in the morning from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. EDT.

Boccia will be joined by fellow Wolters Kluwer regulatory compliance consultants Ann-Marie Lefebvre and Jeffrey Robb, along with Michael Fuchs, director of Commercial Lending. The roundtable will cover a multitude of relevant topics, including:

  • HMDA Expansion: Preparation efforts beyond technology
  • CMS: Fortifying your Compliance Management System
  • CRA Exams: Areas where regulators will focus
  • Fair Lending Focus: Redlining, indirect auto and more
  • Commercial Lending: Best practices for due diligence and closing

“Heightened regulatory expectations require financial institutions to operate in a continual state of readiness,” said Boccia. “This roundtable will provide bank compliance officers, risk managers, legal counsel, and auditors with more specific guidance on addressing some of the major regulatory changes that they are facing, such as the revised Home Mortgage Disclosure Act requirements.”

Boccia joined Wolters Kluwer in 2016 and is a longtime compliance professional and attorney who has served in senior-level compliance roles. She previously served as a regional director at a national consulting firm, where she managed a variety of compliance engagements with financial institutions of all sizes. Prior to consulting, she developed deep, practical skills and experience in compliance through various positions held at financial institutions, as well as fintech experience with emerging technologies from her work in Silicon Valley.
