Wolters Kluwer highlights wave of innovation at the 2018 American Association of Law Libraries Conference

Momentum accelerates, further merging technology, content and workflow at leading expert solutions company.

Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory U.S. will showcase a diverse portfolio of both new and recently enhanced solutions for legal professionals at the 2018 American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) Annual Meeting and Conference in Baltimore, Maryland, July 14-17.

The company – whose signature research platform Cheetah™ recently received a SIIA CODiE award for “Best Legal Solution” – has continued to drive an unprecedented period of innovation focused on customer-centric development. “Wolters Kluwer's extensive, diverse and top-of-the-line portfolio enables our clients to deliver deep impact when it's needed the most by harnessing expert information, actionable insight, intelligent tools and precise timing," said Gregory Samios, Chief Executive Officer of Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory U.S. “As the legal landscape undergoes significant disruption, we are committed to collaborating with our customers to create solutions that allow them to stay ahead of the curve.”

Optimized, AI-enhanced tools for a shifting regulatory environment

As legal professionals face the challenges of a rapidly changing regulatory environment, Wolters Kluwer has prioritized solutions that provide practitioners with tools to easily navigate treacherous terrain.

In the wake of the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act – the most sweeping tax legislation in decades – Wolters Kluwer introduced Estate & Gift Tax Plus as the newest addition to Tax Reporters Plus Suite, its extensive portfolio of innovative workflow solutions for tax attorneys. The suite, which also includes Standard Fed Plus and State Tax Plus, leverages point-in-time navigation and redlining comparison capabilities through Wolters Kluwer’s strategic partnership with Propylon, a market leader in legislation-tracking software.

As agency rulemaking continues to accelerate under the current presidential administration, Wolters Kluwer recently announced the introduction of near-real-time alerts from its AI-powered Federal Developments Knowledge Center. The tool provides analytics that are updated in real time and that predict the probability of a given proposed bill or regulation moving through the legislative process and ultimately becoming law. With these capabilities, Federal Developments Knowledge Center serves as a single source for practitioners to understand what’s relevant in the federal regulatory space.

Best-in-class research solutions

Wolters Kluwer continues to extend is position as a market leader in transactional law support of SEC research, filings preparations, and mergers and acquisitions through ongoing enhancements to its Transactional Law Suite for Securities. The suite includes AI-powered M&A Clause Analytics, which improves and streamlines the M&A drafting process; RBsource, RBsourceFilings and RegReview to optimize SEC research; and Clarion, which provides tools to optimize due diligence and client counsel.

Following a collaborative customer ideation process, Wolters Kluwer recently launched PE+, a solution designed to transform how international tax professionals conduct research on Permanent Establishment. The solution features an intuitive user interface, easy comparison tools and direct links to resources that integrate seamlessly into users’ workflow.

“Our solutions, merging best-in-class subject-matter expertise and cutting-edge technology, have taken the next leap forward,” said Dean Sonderegger, Vice President & General Manager, Legal Markets & Innovation. “We are proud that the substantial, meaningful innovation we have driven has been in close collaboration with and highly responsive to our customers.”

Enhanced aggregation and curation of the best, most important content

Wolters Kluwer is expanding its capabilities in content aggregation and curation to help users sort, manage and organize vast amounts of content. The company has diversified its SmartTask and SmartTask Pro portfolio to drive efficiency and consistency across law firms’ standard practices, and its recent collaboration with ktMINE continues to strengthen its market-leading intellectual property content.

In response to the rapid development of cybersecurity law, Wolters Kluwer has further enhanced its Cybersecurity & Privacy Law Suite. The suite provides access to curated content and tools to navigate the complex legal and regulatory environment of cybersecurity and electronic privacy.

Award-winning legal research platform

To guide customers in deriving maximum value from its plethora of solutions, Wolters Kluwer continues to feature its critically-acclaimed intuitive research platform Cheetah™. With a new search structure and enriched content, the solution organizes legal information topically, putting content in context so attorneys can quickly understand and advise on today’s complex matters. Earlier this year, Cheetah™ won a 2018 SIIA CODiE Award for Best Legal Solution. The prestigious CODiE awards are the industry's only peer-recognized awards program and all entrants are subjected to two rounds of rigorous user testing.

“A bit more than a year ago, the industry took positive notice of Wolters Kluwer’s innovation and solutions,” said Mr. Sonderegger. “We are continually improving upon these solutions and bringing new tools to the market to ensure our clients have an advantage as they confront their most pressing and complex challenges. We are pleased to showcase these products at AALL 2018, and we look forward to continuing to transform our portfolios as this client-centric innovation heats up even further."

AALL 2018 will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Wolters Kluwer products will be located at Booth #307. To learn more, visit: https://www.aallnet.org/conference/
