Maike Greine grew up in the Paderborn district and graduated in 2012 with a degree in Corporate Management & Economics (Minor Communication- and Cultural Management) in Friedrichshafen. During her studies, Greine first worked as a presenter for the online radio station Welle20, then as a reporter for the high-reach WDR station 1LIVE (3.1 million listeners daily). Greine has worked as a reporter and writer for various formats of the radio stations WDR2, WDR5 and Deutschlandradio. Since 2015, Maike Greine has been part of the permanent presenter roster of 1LIVE.

In 2014, Maike Greine became a reporter for the TV infotainment magazine Galileo (ProSieben). The sometimes controversial topics of her socio-cultural Galileo reports range from the everyday life in psychiatric clinics, the religious community of Jehovah's Witnesses and free churches, the German armed forces and visits to slums and crisis regions worldwide.

Her reports on electronic scrap processing in Agbogbloshie (Ghana), as well as on the political crisis situation in Venezuela and on the subject of gun violence in the USA attracted particular attention. In 2022, she hosted the report "VOXinside" about muscle addiction and doping in popular sports. 

Maike Greine is a sought-after event moderator in the field of business and politics (including IHK, Ministry of Economics NRW, BZgA, Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb)). In August 2018, Greine moderated Pope Francis' special audience on the occasion of the International Altar Boy Pilgrimage in St. Peter's Square in Rome in front of 100,000 spectators.
