Steve Bisbee is Senior Advisor, Applied Technology for Wolters Kluwer Compliance Solutions. He provides knowledge and guidance for the application and development of Wolters Kluwer eOriginal related technologies and supports enterprise and partner relationships and engagement.
Bisbee is the founder of eOriginal, the leading platform for creating, managing, and monetizing trusted digital loans. Steve envisioned a unique solution wrapping digital business and legal processes in security technologies to reduce the burdens and inefficiencies of paper-based transactions. He founded eOriginal to fulfill this vision. Wolters Kluwer acquired eOriginal in 2020.
While at eOriginal, Bisbee oversaw the creation of unique solutions that serve as the foundation of a digital ecosystem for originators, banks, investors, funders, custodians, legal counsel, rating agencies, and other key stakeholders. These solutions enabled the first fully digital mortgage, equipment lease, and international trade transactions.
Bisbee lends his expertise on the greater financial industry technology landscape, products, services and trends, emerging technology platforms and offerings as well as legal and regulatory compliance, challenges and proposed legislation.
He is the lead inventor for patents protecting the proprietary eOriginal methods and processes for creation, transferability, management, access, maintenance, compliance and legal ownership of its Digital Original® documents.
Bisbee and the eOriginal team worked with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and many others in developing the MISMO standards for digital mortgage and eventually the creation of the eNote Registry operated by MERS. With Fannie Mae as its partner, eOriginal developed the first fully digital mortgage closing capability, including multiparty execution and notarization of documents, county title recordation, offer and sale of the mortgage promissory notes to Fannie Mae, and their transfer into the secondary market as securities. eOriginal’s legacy is as a leading digital mortgage technology platform, a partner of MERS, the provider of the eVault technology for Fannie Mae’s eNotes and an eNote eVault provider for Freddie Mac’s customers and many of the largest mortgage lenders.
Bisbee co-founded and serves on the Board of Directors of TLC Lacrosse, a Baltimore-based regional non-profit young women’s lacrosse club focusing on community service and personal development, which serves over 300 young women each year.
Bisbee earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Xavier University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the Boston College School of Law, where he was a founding member of the Business Advisory Council.
