Installing the UpToDate® Lexidrug™ (formerly Lexicomp) mobile app can be completed in a few simple steps, but the process differs based on the type of subscription you have:

  • If you have an individual subscription, please follow the "Individual Subscriptions" instructions.
  • If your organization or institution has provided you with an Authorization Code for access to Lexidrug software on your handheld device, please use the "Enterprise Users" instructions.

Individual Users

Please note that Lexicomp has changed in name to UpToDate Lexidrug. For a short time you may still see Lexicomp represented when purchasing, downloading, and using the mobile app.

Update your previously installed Lexidrug (formerly Lexicomp) mobile app

  1. Open the Lexidrug (Lexicomp) app on your device while connected to the internet.
  2. The new registration will sync to your device automatically.
  3. Select an icon to begin accessing your Lexidrug mobile app subscription.

Install the Lexidrug (formerly Lexicomp) mobile app

  1. To install the Lexidrug (formerly Lexicomp) mobile app, follow these instructions.
    • On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch mobile device:
      • Tap on the App Store icon and search for Lexidrug (Lexicomp).
      • Select Lexidrug (Lexicomp) and tap Get or Free, then Install, or the small cloud with a downward arrow, and enter your iTunes password (if prompted) and tap OK.
    • On an Android mobile device:
      • Tap the Play Store icon and search for Lexidrug (Lexicomp).
      • Select Lexidrug (Lexicomp)and tap Install. When the warning appears, tap Accept.
  2. Open the Lexidrug (Lexicomp) app on your device.
  3. Enter your email and password and tap Log In. If you forgot your password, click Forgot Password.
  4. Please read the license agreement and tap Accept.
  5. Select Automatic Update preference: Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi and Data; Tap Next.
  6. Select your Library content preference: I will select the content sets to install; or Download ALL content sets for me; Tap Get Started.
  7. Select content sets or tap Download All.
  8. After the update is complete, tap the Menu button in the top right corner and tap Home.
  9. Select an icon to begin accessing your Lexidrug mobile app subscription.

Enterprise Users

Please note that Lexicomp has changed in name to UpToDate Lexidrug. For a short time you may still see Lexicomp represented when downloading and using the mobile app.

Step 1 – Add subscription to your account

  1. Visit https://www.lexi.com/account/.
  2. If you have an existing account, skip to Step 3.
    • New Users: Click on the Create Account button to create your new Lexidrug account. Enter your registration information and click Create Account. You must register with your organizational e-mail address. You will need this email and password again during Step 3 of these instructions to sign into your account on your phone.
    • Click Log in now.
  3. Enter your Email Address and Password; click Log in.
  4. In the Subscriptions section, locate Add a Subscription by Code.
    • If you do not see Add a Subscription by Code, click on "Have an authorization code? Add the subscription here"
  5. Enter the Authorization Code; click Add Subscription.
    • If you receive "The product code is not valid " message, please confirm the code was entered correctly and try again.
    • You may also need to update your email address to your organizational email.
      • Once logged in, click CHANGE EMAIL ADDRESS on the right side of the screen.
      • Enter your organizational email address and click Update.
  6. You will receive an email with a 5-character PIN at your registered email address.
  7. Enter the PIN into the Verify PIN field; Click Verify.
  8. Click Finish.

Step 2 – Update or install the Lexidrug (formerly Lexicomp) mobile app

Update your previously installed Lexidrug mobile app

  1. To update the Lexidrug (formerly Lexicomp) mobile app already installed on your device, follow these steps.
    • On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch mobile device:
      • Open the Lexidrug (Lexicomp) app on your device.
      • Tap the Update icon, place check marks next to the databases you wish to update, or tap Select All and then tap Update.
    • On an Android mobile device:
      • Open the Lexidrug (Lexicomp) app on your Android device while connected to the internet.
      • The new registration will sync to your Android device automatically.

Install the Lexidrug (formerly Lexicomp) mobile app

  1. To install the Lexidrug mobile app, follow these instructions.
    • On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch mobile device:
      • Tap on the App Store icon and search for Lexicomp.
      • Select Lexidrug (Lexicomp) and tap Get or Free, then Install, or the small cloud with a downward arrow, and enter your iTunes password (if prompted) and tap OK.
    • On an Android mobile device:
      • Tap the Play Store icon and search for Lexidrug (Lexicomp).
      • Select Lexidrug and tap Install. When the warning appears, tap Accept.
  2. Open the Lexidrug app on your device.
  3. Please read the license agreement and tap Accept.
  4. Enter your email and password and tap Sign In. If you forgot your password, click Forgot Password.
  5. You will receive an Account Synced message. Tap OK to this message.
  6. You must download the databases before you can begin accessing your subscription.
  7. Place check marks next to the databases you wish to install, or tap Select All and then tap Update.
  8. If prompted, tap OK.
  9. After the update is complete, tap the Menu button in the top right corner and tap Home.
  10. Select an icon to begin accessing your Lexidrug Mobile App subscription.

System Specifications

  1. Updates may take some time, depending upon the database(s) selected, the connection speed, and the speed of your device's memory.
  2. The Lexidrug mobile app requires a strong cellular or Wi-Fi signal for installation. The application may transfer a significant amount of data, which could result in charges from your carrier. We recommend you utilize an unlimited data plan or connect to a Wi-Fi network when installing or updating this product. Please contact your carrier for assistance with your data plan or with utilizing a Wi-Fi connection.
  3. The iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad application requires iOS 14.0 or later, an active Apple ID, and 2.0 GB of available space. To verify you have a compatible device, access SETTINGS > GENERAL > ABOUT. If you have an earlier version, please update your device before continuing. If you do not have an iTunes account, please visit: https://appleid.apple.com/ to create one.
  4. The Android application requires OS 9.0 or later, access to the Play Store and 2.0 GB of available space. To verify you have a compatible device, access SETTINGS > ABOUT. If you have an earlier version, please update your device before continuing. The Play Store requires you to have a Gmail account. If you do not have a Gmail account, please visit: https://accounts.google.com to create one.
