    What happens once my order is submitted?


    Orders are processed within 1-2 business days after submission. The designated CCH iFirm administrator will receive an email from Wolters Kluwer with the login instructions for accessing your new CCH iFirm site.

    What are my training options?


    Private training & consulting

    The best option for your firm is to invest in private training and consultation to get started with CCH iFirm. This will provide your firm with support from our professional services team.

    If private training and consulting has been purchased, your client trainer from the professional services team will contact you via email to arrange a kick-off call to discuss your training plan.

    To prepare for your kick-off call select your champion team. Your champion team should consist of individuals who will be responsible for implementing configurations and workflow decisions. Partners and managers championing the project should be included in every call as their involvement is critical to a successful implementation.

    Your client trainer will be your main point of contact for 30 or 60 days after your end user training, depending on the training and consultant package you purchased. During this welcome program, you can email your client trainer with follow up questions.

    Upon completion of the welcome program, you will transition to our technical support team. Access the Support site to open a support case.
  • CCH iFirm Taxprep appendix

    Import

    Import full tax returns from previous years and view them in CCH iFirm Taxprep. This will allow Users to continue working on a return that was started in Taxprep/Cantax.

    Important note: Not all data is imported from Taxprep/Cantax Desktop to CCH iFirm Taxprep. Attached notes, attached schedules, attached files, return status, eFile status, eFile info, eFile log/reports, lock status, password protection, properties notes (file notes, preparer, reviewer, partner and T2 data connection links) associated and related corporation links and also some less common metadata will not be imported.

    Supported file formats:

    • Personal Taxprep: 2017 taxation year and onward
    • Corporate Taxprep: 2016 taxation year and onward
    • Taxprep for Trusts: 2018 taxation year and onward
    • Taxprep Forms: 2018 taxation year and onward
    • Cantax T2: 2016 taxation year and onward
    • Cantax FormMaster: 2018 taxation year and onward

    Note: Contacts will be created in CCH iFirm automatically or returns will be linked to an existing contact based on tax reference numbers or client name (exact match).

    ehub video:  Import from Taxprep


    Tip: A notification displays when the roll forward or import is complete. To review all notifications, click on the Notifications icon within the Taxprep module. If an error occurs, click on the notification in the list and click See Report to view details.

    CCH iFirm allows you to easily roll forward prior year returns or to import full tax returns from previous years and view them in CCH iFirm Taxprep. 


    Roll forward  

    Roll forward prior year returns in batches of up to 200 at a time. Taxpayer information, opening balances and 5-year comparative summary will roll forward.

    ehub video: Roll forward files from other tax software


    Data retention 


    Wolters Kluwer’s policy will be to maintain the current tax year plus the prior six (6) tax years of tax data and programs on Wolters Kluwer’s servers. All data and tax programs for tax years prior to such sixth (6th) year (the “out years”) will be permanently deleted from Wolters Kluwer servers. Before the permanent deletion, a notification will be sent in advance to ensure you have time to backup your tax data as required. Six months of additional tax data will be maintained on backup media, and then permanently deleted.  

    Note: This policy does not replace the CCH iFirm subscription agreement or any other signed legal contracts with Wolters Kluwer.

    Data migration – Contacts


    The data migration (contacts) service assigns a client trainer to guide your firm on how to create a .csv import file of your contact records to import into your CCH iFirm.

    Note: It is the firm’s responsibility to organize and clean up client data prior to import.

    Data migration – WIP & AR balances


    The data migration (WIP & AR) service assigns a client trainer to guide your firm on how to create a .csv import file of your work in progress and accounts receivable records to import into your CCH iFirm

    Note: It is the firm’s responsibility to prepare the WIP and AR spreadsheets.


    Invoice customization 


    The invoice customization service assigns a client trainer to assist with customizing the invoice and statement templates to be used with in your CCH iFirm.  

    Note: If private training & consulting has been purchased for any additional modules such as CCH iFirm Capacity Planning, CCH iFirm Portal, CCH iFirm Documents or CCH iFirm Taxprep, then separate onboarding sessions will be offered to cover these modules in detail.

First time login 

For your first login to CCH iFirm, you will need the CCH iFirm URL, admin username and temporary password that will be sent via e-mail. 


Tip:
  If you have purchased private training, please wait for your first onboarding call to log in. Your client trainer will assist you with the admin login and creating users.

Ensure that all licenses and security roles are assigned to your users under Settings > Users.  

How do I subscribe to other modules or add licenses in CCH iFirm?

How do I keep up to date with CCH iFirm announcements?
Click on the bell along the top of your CCH iFirm to access announcements. A number will appear alongside the bell whenever a new announcement has been posted.  

Is there a CCH iFirm news bulletin I can subscribe to?
Yes. Please register here! If you subscribe to the CCH iFirm newsletter, you will also receive an email with the same information that we publish in the announcements.
