Dr. Gordon Watkins has over 8 years of experience in institutional pharmacy clinical practice and operations, most specifically in implementing and optimizing pharmacy technology solutions.
His most recent experience as a pharmacy practice supervisor includes several technology conversions and implementations, including IV workflow devices, automated dispensing cabinets, pharmacy inventory software, smart infusion pump library management and integration, medication storage trays, and controlled substance management. As a supervisor, he also was accountable for the education and competencies of staff members, including USP 795, 797, and 800 compliance.
He has held a variety of clinical and leadership roles and participated in many network-level standardization and optimization initiatives.
He completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Pittsburgh and received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania. Recently, he received his diploma from the Pharmacy Leadership Academy through the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
