Mark Anthony B. Perez is Director of the Department of Supervisory Analytics of the Financial Supervision Sector of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. He heads the team that is responsible for prudential reporting governance and applying analytics and SupTech for data-driven supervision and policymaking. He leads the Information Exchange Committee of the Financial Sector Forum and is the Vice Chair of the BSP’s Data Governance Council.
Prior to entering government service in 2018, Mark held senior vice president positions at Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (Philippines), Citibank Savings Inc., and Citibank N.A. and was a Member of the Board of Directors of BancNet Inc. for several terms. He also worked with Accenture Inc’s management consulting practice running various technology-driven projects for banking clients. His career began in 1993 at De La Salle University as an Assistant Professor, and later, as Vice Chair of its Economics Department.
Throughout his professional life, his main areas of focus have been retail banking, branch operations, marketing communications, as well as leading projects involving business process reengineering, data warehouse, fraud and customer analytics. He is passionate about the transformative power of data and technology and its role in improving customer experience and regulatory outcomes.
Mark completed the FinTech and Regulatory Innovation Program of the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge. He holds a Master of Science in Economics from De La Salle University-Manila where he also earned his Bachelor of Arts Major in Economics and Bachelor of Secondary Education graduating cum laude and class valedictorian.
