The results are based on a survey of over 520 in-house legal professionals, which explored the state of digitalisation in legal departments across Europe.

  • Collaborating with other departments 
    throughout the company and third parties 
    (33%)

  • Managing priorities and deadlines 
    (29%)

  • Demonstrating the value of the 
    legal department to business 
    stakeholders (28%)

  • Managing documents and contracts (27%)

 

The rise of legal operations:

  • About 1 in 2 organisations has a dedicated legal operations function, regardless of the size of team or company.

  • Budget is the biggest issue legal departments face when introducing legal technology tools and services, as 57% of respondents cited securing budget as a main challenge.
