On 4 November 2024, the Single Resolution Board (SRB) released the instructions for the Minimum Bail-in Data Template (MBDT). These new templates aim to streamline the implementation of bail-in decisions in the event of a bank failure or during testing exercises. The instructions replace the current bail-in dataset specifications.

The MBDT package not only includes data templates but also provides an operational guide to ensure the structured and standardized collection of data. This comprehensive package ensures that the necessary data is readily available for use in the event of a bank failure, resolution planning, and testing.

Banks are given a timeframe of 12 to 18 months (for certain tables) to implement the MBDT after its publication.
