Professor of the University of Silesia, First Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the EU. A graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Silesia and the College of Europe (Bruges). Associate Member of the International Academy of Comparative Law; Member of the Board of Trustees of the Academy of European Law in Trier, Member of the European Group of Private International Law, President of the Polish Association of European Law.
Lecturer at the University of Silesia, University of Warsaw (British Center for English and European Legal Studies at the University of Warsaw), Collegium Civitas, College of Europe, Jagiellonian University. He has also lectured on various aspects of European Union law, including at the Academy of European Law in Trier, the Supreme Bar Council, the National Chamber of Legal Advisers, the National School of Judiciary and Prosecutors, the University of Łódź, the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań, the University of Warsaw. In the years 2005–2008 Head of the Post-graduate Studies in European Union Law for Judges (organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice) University of Silesia - Faculty of Law and Administration.
