He began using the Kleos cloud solution in early 2020, during the pandemic. After the first three months, he took stock and, in an interview, explained how he established decentralised work in his law firm, enabled employees to work from home where necessary and boosted the overall efficiency of the law firm, whilst always remaining available to his clients.

What were the principal considerations when you introduced law firm software?

The new solution needed to make decentralised and mobile work an option; in addition to file management, I wanted to be able to provide an up-to-date, digital map of the workflows in place at my law firm. That’s why it really had to be a cloud solution. When it comes to backups, updates and maintenance expenses and problems, I didn't want to have to rely on an external IT service provider.

How did Kleos come to your attention?

We looked at the cloud solutions available on the market at the time and put simple faith in the results of our internet research. Webinar offers were a particularly important aspect for us – we didn’t want to forego proper training. But since it is difficult to assemble the entire team in the office at the same time, we were looking for online training with flexible scheduling options. That's when we happened upon Wolters Kluwer. Kleos has been available throughout Europe for several years, now. I don’t think it’s very likely that they would stop developing the system from one day to the next.

What is it like working with Kleos now? Did it meet your requirements?

Thanks to Kleos, now we can work from home or in the office. Moreover, we all have fun working with Kleos because now many of the laborious tasks we used to perform by hand can be automated. Working with templates and receivables accounts, creating our own templates, and all the things that could be automated in connection with Outlook have made our work far more efficient. I do most of my legal work in Kleos nowadays – it’s become my workplace, so to speak. And our plan is a success: whoever wants to can now work from home if need be. With Kleos, my law firm can respond more quickly to enquiries; our work has grown noticeably faster and more efficient.
